Name Tests

Name Tests are conducted to test a number of different names and thereby to select the most attractive and appropriate name for a new brand or brand extension. This method consists of brainstorming sessions to deliver an extended list of appropriate names. Focus Group discussions are conducted among target product users with short list of names (up to 8 names) to select the most attractive and appropriate name. This study is important in identifying of perceptions and associations of short-listed names among target consumers, suitability of proposed names for the product in general, ranking of names and attractiveness of chosen names. The choice of a name for a brand name is one of the most important decisions in the brand initiation phase. Name Tests on the target product users population provides deeper understanding of consumer needs, values and expectations in that respect.
